Big thanks to Lyra’s youngest supporters - thank you!

The Botha family and friends in Henley have been great supporters of Lyra - thank you!

When Angela and Clint Botha met Lyra’s founder Maria, they wanted to do something to help. The couple, who run a physiotherapy practice, immediately started collecting medical equipment and tools for Iringa's regional hospital. Lyra helped get their donations of crutches, medical walking ankle boots and shoulder slings to where they were needed.

Now the whole Botha family has taken Lyra into their hearts. The Botha's children, Connor and Kirsten have found their own ways of raising awareness and funds for Lyra.

With his love of technology, Connor understands Lyra’s vision of investing in and training communities to use new technologies. “I thought I should support Lyra, because I feel like everyone should have access to technology and the ability to learn whatever they want.”

So ahead of Christmas, Connor created this fabulous video to help publicise our GlobalGiving crowdfunder to get more tablets for schools.

In June 2019, his sister Kirsten and friend Lola, raised £84 through a cake sale. Their hard work paid off and their money will provide two tablets for Lyra’s digital classrooms.

“I wanted to support Lyra because girls don’t have all the opportunities I do, and I wanted to change that.” – Kirsten

We are in awe and so thankful!
