Empowering Girls, Transforming Futures

Empowering Girls, Transforming Futures

This weekend, on International Day of the Girl Child, we at Lyra in Africa celebrated the strength, resilience, and limitless potential of girls across Tanzania and beyond.

Yet, the reality remains that millions of girls still face barriers that limit their dreams:

📊 1 in 3 girls in Sub-Saharan Africa are married before the age of 18.
📚 Over 32 million girls of primary and lower-secondary school age are not in school.
💧 Many still lack access to safe learning environments, menstrual hygiene, and digital opportunities.

At Lyra in Africa, we are changing this narrative — one girl at a time. Through our eco-hostel programme, girls from remote communities can now continue their secondary education safely, free from long and unsafe school journeys. Our digital learning labs bridge the gender and rural/urban gap in tech skills, while our life and entrepreneurship skills courses empower girls to envision futures filled with choice and confidence.

💜 Every girl deserves to learn, to lead, and to live without limits. When a girl is educated, she doesn’t just uplift herself — she uplifts her family, her community, and generations to come.

👉 For USD 290, you can give a girl a safe space, food, and necessities in a Lyra dormitory for a year.
